Absolute privacy
The owners’ accommodations occupies the entire main deck, the most comfortable part of the ship in rough seas. “The owner wanted private rooms away from the guests,” explains Zervudachi. But on PLANET NINE daytime and nighttime areas are not awkwardly split up by the owners’ deck sandwiched between the living areas on the main and upper decks. All sleeping accommodations are on the main and lower decks, apart from the VIP on the bridge deck. The arrangement works remarkably well for owner and guest privacy.

The 275m2 (3,000 square foot) owner’s deck, located forward of the helicopter hangar, has two master staterooms. The first is amidships. It is accessed via the starboard deck or from the main staircase through a central lobby area. The dressing area, upholstered in African fabric woven in Dakar for Aïssa Dione, is starboard and the large bathroom is on the portside. The master bathrooms feature glass paneling, with varying tints. Glass was chosen because it is light, fresh and easy to maintain.
Amidships, the expansive master stateroom features a comfortable seating area, wacapou bookcases and a desk overlooking the water. The wealth of textures and finishes blend perfectly together. Since they are only used for docking maneuvers, the side decks are otherwise completely private, affording wonderful views over the water.

Sliding doors shut the whole deck off from the main staircase built around the Otis elevator and decorated in duck egg blue leather. Both master staterooms have dedicated libraries lined with books from floor to ceiling and showcased by careful indirect lighting. Set up as a conference room in the past, the library in the forward master stateroom would feel grandiose in a townhouse, but on a yacht it is absolutely extraordinary and immensely livable.

Dressing room
The second master stateroom opens onto the family room. Decorated in vibrant yellows and oranges it is warm and welcoming. The large dressing room is portside and the separate bathroom and WC are forward.
The interior by Fitz was prefabricated with millimetric precision in the company’s factory in Mertingen, Germany and then reassembled on board using the “Fitz-bones” as connecting pieces. This system allows for fabrics to be changed or replaced with ease should that ever become necessary in the future.

“Interior design isn’t necessarily about style, it’s about understanding what brings a person and that space together, why they want to live in it, and how best my team and I are able to make it work for them”.
